Jennifer, Marc to Launch Fall '07 Tour


Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will launch a tour together kicking off September 29th in Atlantic City. The couple have been busy promoting and premiering the film ‘«£El Cantante‘«ō visiting Puerto Rico and the New York International Latino Film Festival.

According to a new study released this week by the Pew Hispanic Center, only 13% of the U.S. Latino population voted in 2006 accounting for 5.6 million votes. That is compared to 39% of all Caucasians and 27% of all African Americans.

This year‘«÷s Los Premios MTV Latin America will be held once again in Mexico City on October 18th. Avril Lavigne and Caf?ģ Tacuba are already slated to perform.

Apple has launched the Tarjeta iTunes, an iTunes gift card in Spanish. The cards will be available in $15, $25 and $50 increments and will initially be available at Best Buy and Target.

‘«£Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz‘«ō, begins its run at New World Stages in New York City on August 28th. The show will be presented in Spanish with two performances a week in English.

Barcelona has been in the dark since Monday with a city-wide blackout affecting public transport, hospitals and businesses and around 350,000 customers. As of last night, power was still not fully restored.

A bid by the Bolivian government to move the country‘«÷s capital from La Paz to Sucre was met with massive protests in the streets of La Paz.

The third and final season of the telenovela ‘«£Rebelde‘«ō is now available on DVD.

Univision aired the Premios Juventud last week. Among this year‘«÷s winners were Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Wisin y Yandel, RBD, Man?Ū, Daddy Yankee and many more. La Mujer de Mi Hermano also won for favorite film and Barbara Mori as favorite actress.

The 22nd annual Imagen Awards for excellence in Latino entertainment will be held on Saturday at Los Angeles‘«÷ Walt Disney Concert Hall. Disney-ABC Television, Entravision CEO Walter Ulloa, ‘«£Cane‘«ō writer Cynthia Cidre and America Ferrera will receive top honors at the awards ceremony.

The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival will take place October 7-14. The deadline to submit films is Friday, July 27th.

Los Angeles Entravision radio station Super Estrella (KSSE) and the Super Estrella Network, have begun to integrate English language songs into its Spanish-language pop format in order to attract a younger, bilingual audience.

Alvaro Rizo has left his post as president of EMI Music Colombia,Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru. Camilo Kejner will now be managing director of EMI Music in Chile, Argentina and Colombia while also overseeing distribution in Venezuela.
