They are secrets hidden in dark corners

Censored Stories

they are secrets
hidden in dark corners,
masked in silence,

they are truth
stripped of voice,
blindfolded and disappeared,

their story is never told,
governments write a false history,
plant flowers over terror and death,

censored stories push against earth,
seeking release
from unmarked graves,

there is power in their rebirth,
vibrations that thunder skies,
rain that uncovers truth,

censored stories find their voice,
dance a new freedom,
sing their song of discovery.

9/7 - 7:00PM Politics
Censored Stories
A new series of drawings by public artist/muralist Roberto Delgado and collage artist Deborah Krall -- two politically charged Los Angeles-based artists. Artists Krall and Delgado speak visually, through the veil of humor on Krall's part, through abstract expressionist eyes on Delgado's part, to war, exploitation and abuse: critical issues facing our communities. The trio La Costra Nostra will sing about the destruction of our environment, immigrants' rights and the plight of the indigenous in a style of music self-labeled "trovaurbana". Exhibit until September 29.
