My America...

...is another word for love

My America...

My America are the people of this nation
Who commit themselves to peace and liberty,
Realizing that the challenge we must face up to,
Is accepting that we've all a right to be

My America belongs to many races
Many creeds, different classes, sexual preferences
Through our differences we find a common faithfulness,
In the human spirit's competence for tolerence

My America stands for freedom
My America not a hawk, it is a dove
My America stands firm on love's commitement,
My America is another word for love

My America is patriotic in its actions
No lip service, no flag waving fallacy
My America engenders all the freedoms
In our nation's constitution policies

My America believes the common knowledge
That to live in peace we must then practice peace,
Individually commit to social justice
If we are ever then to find collective peace

My America stands for freedom
My America not a hawk, it is a dove
My America stands firm on love's commitement,
My America is another word for love
