Once again Latino Hollywood unifies to bring LA the 11th Annual Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF).

The festival will be hosted at the glamorous Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood from October 7th - 14th. The Arclight is located at 6360 W. Sunset Blvd. Hollywood Ca. 90028.

In the 11 years that LALIFF has taken place, the festival has come a long way, taking its place among the cream of the crop of film festivals in the United States, becoming one of the most prominent festival celebrating and showcasing the diversity and flavors of Latino Cinema the world over.

This year's features include entries from the United States, Spain, Portugal, Latin America, and the Caribbean. In addition to featuring and showcasing an amazing line up of the best films the world has to offer, LALIFF strives to educate aspiring filmmakers through a series of workshops, labs, and education opportunities, internships, etc.

It has become a LALIFF tradition to recognize and promote talented Latinos, from filmmakers to producers and directors, from writers to actors. Another great tradition of LALIFF is that they really know how to put on a party, throwing the best Gala events in Hollywood.

I've been lucky enough to have partaken in a couple of these events. Going to a LALIFF gala is as exciting as going to a quincea??era as a kid, but far cooler; way more couture.

Don't expect to see any really tacky wide, orange dresses, plus you won't have to dodge being smothered in kisses from your all the tias you haven't seen since you where twelve.

So for all you movie buffs and aspiring filmmakers keep a heads up for LALIFF events. Hopefully I'll see you there.
