The Squeezebox Gets its Props
Los Angeles Accordion Festival, May 30 - June 1
Accordion music is making a comeback thanks to Tex-Mex, Cajun and Zydeco roots music. How many of us remember when we were kids and our folks took us to dances where all the folks danced while the kids ran around. Well, somehow, the accordion players always stood out because their instruments were unusual with the bellows and keys that resemble a piano. Today, many of the younger bands are rediscovering the power of the accordion. The organizers of the Accordion Festival hope that music lovers will attend the event and learn first hand why the accordion is getting renewed interest throughout the world.
