Employment Opportunities with NALEO


Voter Information Hotline Operator
Position: Part-time/Temporary
Compensation: $8.00/hr

Start/End: September 23 through November 4, 2008
The NALEO Educational Fund's Voces del Pueblo program is seeking motivated individuals to
work as paid phone operators for our (888) Ve-Y-Vota hotline. We are currently looking for
responsible individuals who are interested in encouraging the Latino community to participate in
the upcoming November 4 General Elections, and ensuring those eligible are able to vote and
make their voices heard. Training is provided.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Informing callers on election information, such as where and how to register to vote, where to vote on Election Day, and whether they will need identification.
Recording voting-related problems
Assisting in administrative duties related to the hotline

Requirements include:
Excellent verbal Spanish skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills over the phone
Energy and enthusiasm about voting and elections
Able to stay non-partisan when talking to voters
Able to sit for extended periods of time
Comfortable using a computer, the internet, and moderate typing
No previous experience necessary

GOTV Phone Canvasser
Position: Part-time/Temporary
Compensation: $8.00/hr
Start/End: October 14 through November 4, 2008

The NALEO Educational Fund's Voces del Pueblo program is seeking motivated individuals to
work as paid phone canvassers for our non-partisan get-out-the-vote (GOTV) effort. We are
currently looking for responsible individuals who are interested in encouraging the Latino
community to participate in the upcoming November 4 General Elections.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Contacting Latino voters over the phone and motivating them to vote
Informing callers on election information

Requirements include:
Fully bilingual (Spanish)
Good communication and interpersonal skills over the phone
Energy and enthusiasm about voting and helping the Latino community
Able to stay non-partisan when talking to voters
Able to sit for extended periods of time
Comfortable using a computer

No previous experience is necessary, but all phone canvassers will be required to attend a
