I was born and raised in East Los Angeles to Mexican immigrant parents who came to the states looking for a better future. My father was a big band singer in Mexico during the 1940's where he commenced his career along stars such as Cantinflas and Pedro Infante.

I remember how my parents along with music and movies eagerly embraced new technologies and ideas... At the age of six, I remember my parents taking me to the Cineramadome, now more commonly known as the Arclight in Hollywood, to see "2001: A Space Odyssey." I sat there quietly in the dark with my parents and remember every frame of it. During all two hours and twenty minutes during the movie, I did not budge. I stared at that screen completely enthralled.

It was my father's talent and being exposed to great films including many of Mexico's films from the golden era that have been a source of inspiration and have informed my work. I believe that during the holiday season it is an ideal time to reflect and share our stories. On this point, I share some of my work with you and hope that it may be at the very least entertaining.

Happy Holidays!
