There's some new music in the wind. TIERRA's " On the right track" CD is making a serious splash in the R & B/Funk circuit. This one gets a 4 star rating from the East L.A. Their 2nd new CD "Snake Eyes" will be making it's world wide debut on www.EastLArevue.com, Chicano Express Radio, and The Lost Memories Internet radio stations real soon, so stay logged on! This group was brought to my attention by the BLUES STRAIGHT UP Band's front man Big Mike Rincon, and as always, home-boy has his ear on some good stuff regarding the Blues. I give this one 4 ?Ę stars for newest Blues band CD from the Land of 1000 Dances. As always,a live performance can shoot a CD out of the water into a higher hemisphere, so hearing that these 6 guys & a gal give up great live music, I look forward to catching one of their live performances! And speaking of the BLUES STRAIGHT UP Band, I mentioned earlier this year that the addition of master keyboardist Jaime Avila had added some "juice" to the already sizzling blues recipe featuring the dynamic duo of vocalists Lady Lava Gonzalez and Dave "Harpdog" Pierce, a VERY reliable source has revealed to LatinoLA that original THEE MIDNITERS drummer & founder, George Salazar, has joined brother East Side Sound pioneer Big Mike Rincon and the BLUES STRAIGHT UP Band for what appears to be a grand slam for the "Finest Chicano Blues Band on the Planet", and 2009 will see this band take it another level as their 2nd CD is now being planned. For more info: www.bluesstraightup.com.
‘«™rumors are that an L.A. "Blues Summit" is being planned at one of L.A.'s local hot spots for early next year where the best in L.A. Blues bands will break out and show folks what's up‘«™.we'll keep you posted, as this should be one of the hot ones for 2009.

If you could gather a group of early rock & roll musicians with a prime singer from back in "the day", and re-record & digitally re-master some of their classic songs, the recording capabilities of today mixed with real talent from yesterday would give you a good clear look into the early world of rock & roll in it's rawest form, pre ‘«Űmusic video, pre-electronic enhancements, pre-lip sync, pre-glamour/Disney rock promo (stuff that can make the most mediocre talent a star today). That's the idea behind Rudy Tee Gonzalez y sus Reno Bops' latest release, "In the 50's". A talented Mexican-American group from Texas that toured the southern United States in the 1960's & 70's during rock & roll's adolescence, the CD features Rudy Tee's signature song "All I could do was cry" that still gets airplay on some oldies stations across the country. I really enjoyed it, and I give it 4 stars for some great "come back" music . For more info: www.rudyteegonzalez.com.
The East L.A. Revue Internet Radio Jukebox has more new shows & vinyl classic shows up for your listening pleasure, sure to keep you from being bored. Check them out on www.eastLArevue.com.
So!....what are YOU doing this New Years Eve?
