In early August 2008, Nike Sportswear made Los Angeles its home at the historic Ricardo Montalb?ín Theatre in Hollywood. Built in 1926 by Cecil B. DeMille, it has been called everything from the Doolittle, the Huntington Hartford and the Vine St. Theater in its 80-year history. Now it has been remastered as the West Coast retail and special events home of Nike Sportswear and a cultural hub for the L.A. community.
Nike Sportswear at The Montalb?ín provides consumers will the ability to purchase select Nike Sportswear apparel and footwear from the space, including icons such as the Windrunner, the AW 77 Hoody, the Nike Dunk, Air Max 90 as well as the NSW collection, Nike Sportswear's pinnacle apparel line, a collection steeped in sports but pushed to the cutting edge of engineering, craftsmanship, and modern design.
The theatre's balcony features a dramatic NIKEiD Studio. Exclusive Nike styles, colors and materials are made available to the public on a first come, first serve basis each and every Saturday with a NIKEiD Design consultant.
True to its legacy as the oldest functioning theatre in Hollywood, Nike Sportswear at the Montalb?ín has hosted feature film screenings through its Cinema Tuesdays events and brought in director Aaron Rose for creative workshops with local students. In addition, it has served as the "fan headquarters" for the Filipino community with Manny Pacquiao "fight nights," partnered with the local cycling communities to announce the launch of "Stages" with Lance Armstrong and iconic artist Shepard Fairey and has hosted local youth organizations who have taken the stage for events like Black History month.
The Montalb?ín's unique programming will continue throughout the year with a fresh blend of events that connects authentically with Angelenos, mixing sports and the creative community.
