AT&T Fiesta Broadway, the nation's largest, free, family-friendly, musical, cultural festival will celebrate its 20th Anniversary as it returns to downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, April 26. El Chapo de Sinaloa and Paquita la del Barrio will reign as Grand Marshall & Queen of the Festival headlining the AT&T Main Stage along with FLEX, Rogelio Martinez and Graciela Beltr?n.

The KWHY-TV22 Stage will feature Ninel Conde, Banda Machos, Roxana Martinez, Yolanda Perez and los Pikadientes de Caborca. At the Community Stage, Burger King's national Battle of the Bands, "Tu Ciudad, Tu M??sicasm" contest culminates and features a performance by Latin music star Pee Wee.

AT&T Fiesta Broadway also features a myriad of experiences for its guests such as games, food, children's activities and a whole range of activities created by the Festival's multiple participating sponsors. The Festival also airs the same evening as a 3-hour TV special on Los Angeles KWHY-TV22.

Additionally, this year, AT&T Fiesta Broadway is partnering with Mayor Villaraigosa's Office of Census 2010 Initiatives to reach out to L.A.'s Hispanic population. Just one year before the April 2010 Census count begins in the City of Los Angeles, Mayor Villaraigosa has issued a call to action for Angelenos to join the efforts to ensure that every resident is counted. Additionally, Mayor Villaraigosa appeals to the residents of the City of Los Angeles to become volunteers or business partners, to communicate the critical information to their own neighborhoods or undercounted communities.

AT&T Fiesta Broadway's 20th Anniversary Celebration kicks off with a press conference and Presentation in City Council Chambers on Friday, April 17, followed by a special invitation-only VIP Gala reception at the world-famous Conga Room on Thursday, April 23, culminating with the public event, AT&T Fiesta Broadway on Sunday, April 26.

Over the years, AT&T Fiesta Broadway has presented a galaxy of top-name stars. Past years have featured Pepe Aguilar, Marc Anthony, Celia Cruz, Thalia, Veronica Castro, Los Tigres del Norte, Jose Feliciano, Lola Beltran, Alejandra Guzman, Oscar de la Hoya, Paulina Rubio, Chayanne, Cristian Castro, Marco Antonio Solis, Garibaldi, Luis Enrique, Menudo, Alicia Villareal, Los Tucanes de Tijuana and the late Selena. The Festival was the site of the American debut of Brazilian sensation Xuxa in 1991, and the entertainment always includes ever-popular Mariachi bands and Mexican folklorico dancers.

AT&T Main Stage (S-2) Fiesta Broadway's AT&T Main Stage on Olympic is where the action is as thousands gather to see and hear some of the biggest names in Latin music. KWHY-TV 22 Stage (S-1) KWHY-TV22 anchors the north end of Fiesta Broadway with its mega stage located at First Street and Broadway. This is the home of the AT&T Fiesta Broadway Television Special, which airs the same night throughout Southern California. This year's musical line-up includes: Ninel Conde, Banda Machos, Roxanna, Picadientes de Caborca and Yolanda Cruz.

Community Stage Co-Sponsored by Burger King (S-3) - Burger King Corp. will showcase the hottest new Latino musical talent during its 3rd Annual "Tu Ciudad, Tu M??sicasm"promotional tour at AT&T Fiesta Broadway headlined by rising Latin pop star Pee Wee (formerly of Kumbia All-Stars). The 10-city U.S. tour, hosted by TV host and actress Patricia de Leon, began in McAllen, Texas on March 8.

New this year, is an interactive online voting component of the competition that gives fans the chance to vote for their favorite local bands throughout the tour. The national winner will have the opportunity to open two concert tour dates for a popular Latino recording artist and play their own music in front of thousands of fans.

The "Tu Ciudad, Tu M??sicaSM" experience begins with an online competition in which fans can visit www.BurgerKingMusica.com and vote for their favorite local Latino music band. Four bands will be selected from the first phase of online voting and go on to perform at the live "Tu Ciudad, Tu M??sicaSM" events in their respective cities. This year, First 5 California, a state non-profit organization, is providing an area for children aged five and under comprised of games and activities that center on health and wellness. During these very difficult economic times for California families, First 5 California is looking at creative ways to ensure they are connecting families in need with core resources and services. To that end, this spring's mobile tour has been reconfigured to immediately address the growing need for critical family resources and services, particularly with the unemployment rate at 11 percent and rising. By transforming the van into the First 5 Family Resource Express, First 5 can help families experience first-hand how they are an essential safety net during these challenging times.

Outreach will be limited to Southern California for the next two months, with a particular concentration on Los Angeles County. At each stop, bilingual "edutainers" will engage and educate families about local resources available, as well as distribute prenatal vitamins and $1-off Vons coupons for healthy food products, along with a copy of First 5 California's low-cost, "kid tested" recipe booklet "Yummy for Your Tummy."

Disneyland SuperSite (SS-1) The Kings of The Magic Kingdom return to AT&T Fiesta Broadway as Disney celebrates Cinco de Mayo at Los Angeles' largest Latino street and music festival. Disney will once again have an inflatable replica of its famed "Magic Kingdom Castle" in its SuperSite lot at Fiesta located on the southeast corner of Broadway and 2nd Street -- where families and children of all ages can enter and experience a sampling of the wonders that a visit to the real Disneyland can provide. One of Fiesta Broadway's most popular family attractions!

La Opini??n Sports Zone (SS-2) What do ESPN Deportes, Monster Energy Drink, Best Buy and The U.S. Marines have in common? One great SuperSite home at AT&T Fiesta Broadway. Each will have their own customized and interactive exhibits at Fiesta's Sports Zone lot, located on the west side of Broadway between 2nd & 3rd Streets. ESPN will bring out its touring "You make the call" sportscaster contest while Monster energizes Fiesta with a totally cool skateboard-athon. Oh, and you better not mess with the U.S. Army on-site battle HUMMER or they'll have you doing push-ups and pull-ups. Let the good times roll seriously!

Community SuperSite (SS-6) - The Home Depot will show Fiesta fans how to get things done around the house, while having fun at the same time, and the World Baseball Classic may be over but you can still hit a Grand Slam Home Run at the State Farm Insurance Baseball Tour!

Albertson's SuperSite (SS-7) - Just wouldn't feel like a Fiesta Broadway if you couldn't bop into the Albertson's lot and while away your day hopping from booth to booth sampling all the great stuff from the many, many brands that come out to put a bunch of free stuff in your hands throughout the day. Eat, drink and be merry as this annual mainstay Fiesta SuperSite takes on the feel of a living "supermarket" downtown where everything is freeeeee! Albertsons does a great job decorating their lot and always has a lot of family-fun activities and exhibits to keep you interested. Stop by to visit at the lot located on the east side Broadway between 9th Street & Olympic.

McDonald's SuperSite (SS-8) - The Fiesta Tour: McDonald's Music Experience is a traveling 50-plus foot exhibit that includes a walk-through display of artifacts and memorabilia loaned by more than 50 Latin musicians and organized by decades, from the 1950's to the present. The Fiesta?Tour- McDonald's Music Experience has been on tour since September 2008 and will continue to make its way across the United States at over 25 Hispanic events through November 2009. This year's exhibit features artifacts from some of Latin music's greatest stars, including Celia Cruz, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, Alejandro Sanz, Gloria Estefan, Cristian Castro, Beto Cuevas, Carlos Vives, and Ivy Queen just to name a few.

The Fiesta?Tour- McDonald's Music Experience also features an interactive dance area hosted by LA's own DJ Frankie Needles where visitors can show off their best moves and can also obtain information about the RMHC? /HACER? Fiesta Broadway's effervescent music sets the stage for a television entertainment special broadcast to millions of homes in Southern California immediately after the event.

Fiesta Broadway Engages The Community - AAE works closely with many local and national non-profit organizations offering AT&T Fiesta Broadway as a platform for fund raising or messaging to the Hispanic community about a variety of issues. In the first years of Fiesta Broadway, it was presented "in association" with "Miracle on Broadway," a non-profit, public-private partnership dedicated to the restoration of the ten-block Broadway area. In the years that followed, All Access Entertainment (AAE), the event producer, continued this commitment to the Los Angeles community by donating a portion of the proceeds to organizations like the Mexican Cultural Institute, the Historic Downtown Business Improvement District (BID), LAPD Explorers and the Los Angeles Scholarship Program for Inner City Education, among others.

This year, AT&T Fiesta Broadway partners with Mayor Villaraigosa's Office of 2010 Census Initiatives to urge Latinos to stand up and be counted for the coming Census.

Additionally, AT&T Fiesta Broadway is proud to welcome First 5 California, a state non-profit organization which is providing an area for children aged five or under comprised of games and activities that center on health and wellness

After such a big celebration, you may wonder how Broadway returns to normal. In partnership with local non-profit Chrysalis, Fiesta Broadway will put 170 individuals suffering from poverty back to work for the day. "Chrysalis is proud to be participating in our 6th Fiesta Broadway." says Mark Loranger, CEO of Chrysalis, an organization dedicated to helping homeless and economically disadvantaged individuals gain stability by gaining employment. Chrysalis workers will provide the set-up before the event and the clean up after the event, including pressure washing the sidewalks and street detailing. "The Chrysalis "Clean Team" is ready to work and proud to serve the community in this way," says Loranger.

Chrysalis provides critical employment services to nearly 2,500 homeless and economically disadvantaged individuals annually through its service centers in downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica and in the San Fernando Valley where poverty is the most pervasive. Since 1984, Chrysalis offers services ranging from job-preparation classes and one-on-one mentoring to material assistance such as interview clothing, bus tokens, and access to phones, computers, and fax machines.

For those with the most barriers to employment, Chrysalis Enterprises provides nearly 1,000 individuals each year with temporary apprenticeships. These programs help individuals develop their skills and gain work experience that will eventually help them secure a job in the private sector. Additionally, this innovative work program generates almost 60% of Chrysalis' operating budget.

AAE, a minority-owned California company specializing in the staging of cultural festivals and family entertainment events, has been producing Fiesta Broadway since 1994 when it bought the event from Univision's owner, Jerry Perenchio.

AAE takes every step toward making Fiesta Broadway a safe family event by carefully planning for the security and safety of all in attendance. A highly visible private security force controls the entire perimeter of Fiesta Broadway. AAE has established an outstanding working relationship with both the City of Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments. LAPD and LAFD maintain a presence throughout the day and staff a command center that monitors all proceedings. A special task force of all relevant city departments also participates in thoroughly pre-planning logistically all aspects of the event.
