Earlier this week, while preparing for a Holiday Show at the Lost Memories Internet Radio Show Studios in La Puente, we had a very special visit from The BIG MANNY Band.

Having traveled around the World entertaining audiences with their East L.A. style of "home grown" rock and roll and rockabilly, Manny and the guys have been making the local rounds lately, giving up some notable recent performances at Ruben Molina's recent Southern California Legends of Chicano Soul Shows in San Pedro, Covina, and the City of Industry, and the recent Motown Legends Show at the A MI HACIENDA BALLROOM in Pico Rivera.
Manny and his band were en route to a rehearsal, and had stopped by to leave us a couple copies of his new CD, "The Big Manny Christmas Album", asking politely, "If you like it, could you play a few cuts on your radio show, and dedicate them to our troops overseas?"
I've had the pleasure of catching the Big Manny Band live over the past couple of years, and I've also caught their performances on cable/Internet TV's THEE Mr. DURAN Show, and I KNEW I was going to like the music, no question, so we thought we'd seize the moment and ask Manny Gonzalez for a quick interview.
He easily consented, and then, since they were already there with their cars loaded with their instruments and equipment, station owner Art "Mr. O.G." Rocha asked them if they wanted to use the radio studio for rehearsal
The result was the "Couple of days before Christmas" show on Lost Memories Radio Station (www.djchentemrog.com) scheduled for broadcast starting 12/16/2009 at 8 pm, PST, and running through the Holidays.
Also visiting the station was a small group from the REALITY CAR CLUB, which station owner Art Rocha is a member of. It only took the Big Manny Band one song to get us in the mood, when we got the idea: 'Let's record this moment!"...and a party was had !
Hence, the "Couple of Days Before Christmas" Holiday music show was recorded as an impromptu concert and party in the Lost Memories Radio Station studios, complete and uncut, with an interview of Big Manny and the band members in between some great music cuts off his Christmas album, and a very special dedication to our troops this holiday season from Big Manny himself.
Information on how to get this great Chicano rock & roll Holiday CD will also be given out on the show. So, if you like home~grown, old style rock & roll, with a taste of Chuck Berry, Los Lobos, Elvis, The Blazers, and some killer rock-a-billy, you will LOVE the Big Manny Band!
Merry Christmas from the Lost Memories Internet Radio Station staff & DJ's, and the Big Manny Band.
