Campaign Director for Sought

Organizational Overview is a cutting-edge online organizing initiative that seeks to amplify the political voice of Latinos and their allies. Launched in May 2009, has already run several impactful campaigns on issues like the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor, the racially charged murders of Luis Ramirez and Brisenia Flores, and anti-Latino anchor Lou Dobbs. In the process, our membership has grown to more than 100,000, and we are now looking for a Campaign Director to assume leadership over future campaigns.

Case Study: Basta Dobbs
Our "Basta Dobbs" campaign against CNN anchor Lou Dobbs demonstrates's organizing approach and impact. Working with a coalition of more than 60 partners from the immigrants rights, religious, and progressive communities, the campaign used an array of new media and traditional organizing tactics, including an online petition that gathered more than 100,000 signatures, an online video viewed over 125,000 times, local events in 20 cities, and a digital sit-in on CNN's web site. Our efforts were covered widely in the Spanish- and English-language media, and we achieved our goal when Dobbs resigned from CNN on November 11.
