CASA 0101 Raises Awareness of Crimes Against Women in Juarez

CASA 0101, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the community of Boyle Heights, will be dedicating the entire month of March to raise awareness about violence against humanity. The month long event stems from the hundreds of women who were brutally murdered in the Juarez, Mexico beginning in 1993.

There will be a series of scheduled events and performances that will shed light on the horrific murders that took place in a period of ten years.

Many of the cases in Juarez are unsolved, and the majority of the victims were alike. Most of the victims were girls whose ages range from 12-22, and most were daughters of poor farmers. So far, there have been as many as 640 bodies that were discovered in Juarez, all raped and brutally murdered.

The month-long dedication will also devote prayers to the victims and their families in hopes of impacting violence against humanity all over the world.
