My Memories of Bobby

Whenever anybody mentions Bobby Espinosa & EL CHICANO, two very distinct memories fill my heart & soul.

The first was in 1969, at Lincoln High School, in East L.A., California....

It was the first time I had ever seen "REAL" recording artists in person.

THEE hottest band on the charts and in the land were to perform live...

... and I was there!

I was star struck! Especially by that cat that played the HAMMOND B-3 organ for the number 1 hit in L.A. at the time "Viva Tirado".

...Bobby Espinosa...

It was a memory that has never left me. They were simply magnificent!

The second one comes almost 25 years later...I get to open for them at a concert they did at the World famous Greek Theater in Los Angeles...this was a moment in time I will never forget! Bobby and I became good friends after that.

Bobby Espinosa and I worked together several times after that over the years whenever they needed a comedian to open or host a show, from the Puente Hills Hop to the Gibson Theater in Universal City, Bobby was my friend, and it was always a pleasure to see and work with the man, the legend, that was Bobby Espinosa.

The World has lost an original musical genius, but above that, a beautiful person with a heart of gold with talentand& music that will live forever amongst us for generations to come.

MAY GOD KEEP HIM IN HIS GLORY

We love you, Bobby... YOU WILL BE MISSED CARNAL !!

With the deepest love and respect
