Joe Bataan International Tour 2010 Starts in California

Joe Bataan "The King of Latin Soul" is leaving New York; He is embarking on his first music tour to Tokyo, Japan. The show has sold out the special reserve tables for that performance on June 5, 2010. The general admission is now the hot ticket. Our good friend and honorary Chicano brother, Mr. Shin Miyata of Music Camp and Barrio Gold Records is the promoter who invited Mr. Bataan to Tokyo. Yvonne Nitollano will accompany Joe on vocals and Peter "Choki" Quintero, band leader will play Timbales. Japanese sensation Masa Ikeda, who played with Joe in the 1970s, will join the band on Trombone. Bon Voyage, Joe.

But wait, there is more . . .

Before they take the trip across the Pacific Ocean to the Land of the Rising Sun, the Joe Bataan International Tour will share a special ministry on May 29 and a live concert on May 30, in the Golden State of California USA. They return to Northern California for a concert in beautiful San Jose, California on June 12, 2010 at the Avalon Night Club for Latin Music Inc.

Contact Dr. Bernard "Bernie" Gonzalez at DrBGMalo@latinrockinc.com.

Joe, Yvonne, Choke will be joined again by Ray Poncin, music director and Art and Kelly Galvan's' Kool Katz band for the concert. After visiting North California Joe Bataan and company return home to New York to prepare for his trip to England.

Joe was born Bataan Nitollano in 1942 in Spanish Harlem, New York City.

Joe "Afro-Filipino Ordinary Guy" Bataan is a favorite in our Chicano and Latino communities. His hit songs, "Under the Street Lamp", "My Cloud", "Gypsy Woman", "La Botella", "Super Woman", "The Prayer" and "I Wish You Love" are some sample songs of his signature style.

Bataan was influenced by two music styles: the Latin Boogaloo and Rhythm & Blues. He has released 16 record albums on the Fania, Salsoul, and Vampi Soul labels with re-issues in Japan and Spain. For more information, please check his new website at www.joebataan.com and stay tuned to the East LA Revue.com Internet Radio site for continuous music and read LatinoLA.com for the complete story, as it unfolds. Welcome to California Joe, Yvonne, and Choki.

Comedian Gilbert Esquivel will open the show with some really fine music from DJ Savor. We love Gilbert's show and DJ Savors mixes. Check out Gilbert Esquivel on Face Book.

The band for Joe Bataan is a group of local studio musicians called, La Raza All-Star Band. They have recorded with Mr. Bataan and have a few songs on his CD "The Message". The musicians in La Raza are all-star caliber and ready for your listening and dancing pleasure. Ray Poncin is the musical director. George Casta??eda from Canela Band of Ventura will present a special musical "Tribute to Mr. Joe Bataan" before the main act. DJ Savor will keep the party going with his style of mix from start until lights-out at midnight.

The reason Joe Bataan loves to perform in California is to meet with the people and his fans. Joe is a Christian brother and has a calling to minister the word of Our Lord.

During the preparation and promotion for this event, Erik "Chico" Manqueros, Bataan's West Coast confidant and founder of Suave Grooves Records was contacted by several music camps and by our music family associates at Destiny Community Church, Int. in Whittier, CA. Pastor Charlie Gallegos has so graciously invited Joe to the church for an interview that will be aired at the Sound of Destiny show on the East LA Revue.com Internet Radio and witnessed live starting at 6 PM, doors open at 5 PM. The public is invited to join the congregation in beautiful up-town Whittier.

After the interview, Joe will sing and pray with the Destiny Band and Choir and give testimonial with the attendees. The church is located at 1227 Greenleaf Avenue, Whittier, CA. 90602 and 562.907.1118. For more information on that, please check www.destinycommunitychurch.com.
Please stay tuned to the finest in music and culture on the East LA Revue.
