Latino Entrepreneurs Launch Web 2.0 Soccer Startup

Fans United Football Club officially launched their online platform to the public and is now registering interested members. It's at http://www.fansunitedfc.com.

Fans United FC is a web community of soccer fans who will come together to acquire and manage a professional soccer team in Brazil. This model is bringing fan involvement in professional sports to a whole new level by allowing soccer fans from every corner of the globe to interact and democratically make decisions usually made by bureaucrats at the head of clubs. The members will also decide on everything about the team's operations from long term decisions such as player acquisition, ticket prices and uniform design, to more immediate factors like team lineup on game day.

Fans United FC registration is free of charge and with no commitment to become a paying member. On the website fans can register and start interacting with fellow members. Current members are already discussing matters of team acquisition, such as what to look for in the ideal team.

Once 50 thousand members have registered Fans United FC will start collecting a fee of US$ 29.95 for an annual membership on the site. The membership will give the fans the right to one vote on every decision and no additional votes can be purchased. Of the membership fee, US$ 27.00 (slightly more than 90%) will go directly to the fund used to purchase the team as well as make team improvements, and the members will decide where to apply the funds.

Fans United FC members will be able to easily keep up with their new team. All home games will be live streamed through the website to the members, this will allow members to follow the team regardless of their location. Furthermore there will be consistent updates on team practices and player performance. Members will know how players are doing in practice and see it for themselves how they perform in games.

The website will also include usability features such as member profiles, keeping track of involvement, and easy ways to draft the starting lineup and make substitution mid-game.

Fans United FC was started by a group of entrepreneurs and soccer fans with the goal of bringing more soccer and involvement to the soccer fans in the USA. With soccer fever catching on as the World Cup approaches, Fans United FC hopes to capture fans interest and register as many fans as possible with the hope of sending a resounding shock to the sports world and empowering football fans to live their dream of managing a professional club.
