The Conga Room will celebrate its second anniversary at its LA Live location, (and kick off its 13th year in business) on Thursday, December 2nd with a special concert by Cuba's legendary, award-winning band, Los Van Van. Founded by real estate entrepreneur Brad Gluckstein, The World Famous Conga Room is co-owned by Jimmy Smits, Jennifer Lopez, Paul Rodriguez, Amaury Nolasco, Sheila E., will.i.am and NBA player Baron Davis.

Referred to as The Rolling Stones of Salsa, Cuba's legendary group, Los Van Van will perform at the World Famous Conga Room at LA Live on Thursday, December 2. Produced by Fuego Entertainment, this rare and long-awaited performance will launch their first U.S. tour in years, It will be a night that will make history and a show that fans will not want to miss.
Formed and led by the mega talented composer/ bassist Juan Carlos Formell in 1969, Los Van Van are innovators of the Cuban style of salsa, known as 'Songo', a reshaped version of the tradition sound combining Afro-Cuban, rock, hip-hop, funk, and disco with the use of electric guitars, synthesizers and violins.
Los Van Van have more than 30 albums to their credit and countless music awards including a Latin Grammy for their album "Van Van is Here" (Lleg?? Van Van). Entertaining wall-to-wall crowds with their non-stop energetic rhythms for more than 40 years, Los Van Van show no signs of slowing down and are sure to be pure fire on stage.
Having originally swept onto the L.A. social scene in 1998, The Conga Room earned a following with its stylish ambiance, hot performers and celebrity clientele. Hosting record launches, movie debuts, award shows and VIP parties, the venue has been home to top Latin tropical legends as well as mainstream talent such as Shakira, Juanes and Carlos Santana.
In order to accommodate its growth, The Conga Room relocated in December, 2008 as part of LA LIVE, the new downtown entertainment district, offering a significantly larger, more sophisticated venue. In addition to presenting award-winning musical acts, The Conga Room offers Latin-style tapas dining at Boca Restaurant and a steady calendar of live entertainment including Jamie Foxx's weekly variety show on Monday nights, Foxxhole Live, Taxi Dancehall, a new live Latin Burlesque & Dance Revue every first and third Friday and Saturday Nights featuring salsa lessons, top 40 and tropical rhythms.
