National Hispanic communications agency VPE Public Relations of Los Angeles has named established industry leader Jennifer Gonzalez as vice president of the company's expanding Consumer Strategies Group.
"Jennifer brings more than 15 years of professional acumen, practical experience, and strategic insight to VPE that will help build our national Hispanic consumer marketing capabilities," said agency partner John Echeveste. "She joins the firm at an especially opportune time as 2010 Census figures again underscore the growing importance of the national Hispanic market as a dynamic economic segment."
Gonzalez joins VPE after a six-year career as director of diversity communications at a Los Angeles-based agency where she supervised national accounts for Pampers, General Motors and others. She has also worked in Los Angeles for both a local and a national agency on consumer and non-profit accounts and as senior editor at Ask Jeeves. She received a BA in communications and public relations from the Universidad Latinoamericana in her hometown of Mexico City.
"I am pleased to join a firm I have admired for many years. VPE is not only an industry leader, but is well-grounded and connected to the needs of the Hispanic market nationally," Gonzalez said. "We are well positioned to provide our clients with smart, strategic solutions for serving Hispanic consumers across the country."
Gonzalez will oversee VPE's roster of national consumer accounts, including McDonald's, Disneyland, and Nestl?® brands, as well as regional accounts, including Southern California Edison and Exitos 93.9FM.
