The Imagen Foundation will be holding its 16th Annual Entertainment Industry Career Conference on Saturday, April 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Pasadena Convention Center, located at 300 East Green Street.
The organization, whose mission includes expanding opportunities for Latinos in the entertainment industry, is encouraging anyone who is interested in a career in entertainment to attend the conference. In addition to a job fair, the conference will include workshops covering such topics as resume and interview tips, dressing for success, how to pitch your own show, and careers in new media.
Participating companies to date include Warner Bros., NBCUniversal, CBS, Fox Television Stations, Disney ABC Television Group, ABC7, KTLA and the Directors Guild Producer Training Plan.
Admission to the conference is $25 if prepaid by March 25th; thereafter and at the door the cost will be $35.
Parking at the Convention Center will be $9, or attendees can arrive via the Metro Gold Line, with the Del Mar station located two blocks away. The Imagen (pronounced ee-mah-hen) organization was established in 1985 from a suggestion by veteran television producer Norman Lear to encourage and recognize the positive portrayals of Latinos in the media.
