Once again, the weather in the Land of 1000 Dances is turning into some of the best in the World, tourists from all over the world are flocking to California because Hawaii, the Bahamas and Club Med have become too expensive, parts of Mexico have become too dangerous, and some of the best music, dancing, and partying is found on the West Coast of Aztlan despite the high & rising price of gas

One special corner of the fabled City of Angels, San Fernando, will be home to some very special events and entertainment, and we thought we'd give you a peek at the upcoming schedule of where some of the Aztlan's hottest talent will be stopping by to entertain the people...brought to you by one of the proudest U.S. Veteran's groups in the Country, the San Fernando Valley Marine Corps League Detachment # 1277.
Events to be held at the historic San Fernando American Legion Hall Post #176:
Starting in May, PACHUCO JOSE y LOS DIAMONTES, one of the finest 1940's~1950's original Chicano Boogie Music tribute bands currently touring the country, will headline the PACHUCO-BOOGIE NIGHT in SAN FERNANDO on the 7th. Opening the show will be one of Aztlan's hottest 1950's Chicano Rock-a-Billy groups that will knock your socks off, WINO BOOGIE. The Marines and their ladies recommend 1940's -1950's attire, as the Zoot Suits & tongos, and high heels & hair-do's will be happening, a toda madre! Then on the 13th, a special fundraiser benefit dance-concert for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life will feature the finest Chicano Blues band on the planet in concert, BLUES STRAIGHT UP, featuring the tantalizing LAVA GONZALEZ at lead vocals. Known to tickle your soul in spots where the sun don't shine, the BLUES STRAIGHT UP will definitely make you a Blues fan if you're not one yet.
Also featured will be George Salazar's 2nd TIME AROUND Band, a veteran East L.A. music conglomeration of original members of THEE MIDNITERS, The JAGUARS, and The HEARTBREAKERS, specializing in Oldies and that good old fashioned rock & roll, with surprise special guests expected. Comedian Wolfie Hernandez will be on hand to tickle the funny bones as well.Price of admission will also feature gourmet appetizers by some of the finest restaurants in San Fernando. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, public community action put on by survivors , victims, and family members of the dreaded disease, cancer, which provides treatment, support, and research to all those affected, in hopes of finding a cure. Saturday July 9th has the exciting SIDETRACS Band coming to town, featuring the mezmerizing talents of one of the most powerful & sensual female vocalists from the San Fernando Valley, Lady SARA MORGAN. A good time and great party, FOR SURE!!

Saturday, August 13th welcomes back to San Fernando, all the way from Santa Barbara and California's golden coast scene of song & dance, the popular ANTHONY PRIETO Band, who will bring their sassy brand of hot Chicano Rock & Soul to L.A.'s beloved Valley. These guys will make you wanna move up north to their neck of the woods!

Closing out our 2011 Summer schedule in fine style, one of the Country's most celebrated and recognized masters of West Coast Latin jazz, the one and only Mr. BOB DeSENA and the BOB DeSENA LATIN JAZZ BAND will rocking the ground Brown on Veteran's Day at the San Fernando American Legion hall on November 11th.
