Mam?: Celebrating Mothers

?My mother amazes me with her spirit and her determination and the fact that she?ll go out and learn how to scuba dive and she?ll go on an African safari and she?ll do all these things she?s never done before. She?s just an unstoppable.?
--Maria Hinojosa, author-journalist

Nothing comes close to the bond that exists between a mother and her daughter. Through fascinating and tender personal histories of some of the most influential and recognized Latinas in America, MAM?: Latina Daughters Celebrate Their Mothers by Maria Perez-Brown, is a testament to the love, hard work and commitment mothers display to their daughters.

In MAM?, Latina daughters honor their mothers? life-long sacrifices by paying homage to the strong women who, through sheer will and determination created a better life for their daughters and families.

The essays of Perez-Brown let readers discover the beauty and complexity of the mother-daughter bond. She has compiled an impressive list of Latinas of various nationalities, races, and lifestyles?some famous and some not so well-known.
