Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio held a press conference last week announcing that two of his detention officers and a deputy were arrested for their involvement with Mexican drug cartels smuggling people and drugs. One of the female detention offices was in a relationship with one of the smuggling ring leaders and is pregnant with his child.

A gun battle in Nayarit, Mexico killed 29 people. The incident appears to have been between rival drug cartels.
