Agency Description: The Actors' Fund is a national human services organization that helps professionals in theatre, film, television, music, opera and dance in times of need, crisis and transition. The Fund offers a broad spectrum of programs including; comprehensive social services and emergency financial assistance, health services, employment and training as well as supportive and affordable housing.
Entertainment Assistance Program (EAP).
Summary: Responsible for providing individual clinical case management services, groups and seminars to clients that receive services under the umbrella of the Entertainment Assistance Program with the goal of providing support, information and resources that address the personal, financial and health needs of people working in the performing arts and entertainment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Manages the flow of intake calls in social services department which includes prompt response to initial requests for services and oversees the triaging of this service. Perform intake calls, developing initial treatment plan, providing information/education on services of program; determine eligibility for financial assistance as well as all human services programs. Refer clients to appropriate internal and external resources.
2) Provide direct services to Actors Fund clients. Services may include: intake, assessment, clinical case management, crisis intervention, brief counseling, resource development and linkage. A candidate will assess for financial wellness, budgeting, and advocacy for internal grants. Provide coordination and support to appropriate referrals for entitlements, benefits, medical/mental health, housing or educational/vocational needs. Assist clients in accessing and maintaining all entitlements and benefits. Visit clients at home or hospital when necessary. Provide mental health assessment and referrals to care, which may include chemical dependency assessment and referrals. Provide individual counseling and related groups.
3) Manages the Housing Resource Center. Ensures that housing information is disseminated by maintaining the Housing Resource Center on the Actors Fund website, facilitating regular housing seminars, and meeting with clients individually when necessary. Cultivates relationships with related housing and community agencies.
4) Helps to develop a network of resources and relationships with community based organizations for housing, legal, food, mental health and chemical dependency treatment or other relevant areas as identified.
LCSW or MSW required. Experience in providing intensive clinical case management, assessment and clinical intervention with adult clients. Strong clinical and interpersonal skills and an ability to engage clients who have a wide range of presenting problems. He/She should be organized and able to handle diverse tasks in fast paced environment. Familiarity with the entertainment community would be helpful.
