The "No-Pants Pants" video for the upcoming "Puss in Boots" movie, featuring the voice of Antonio Banderas in the title role, went viral with over one million views in less than a week. http://www.youtube.com/pussinboots

Beginning Sept. 5th, "Los Americans", a Spanglish webcast about a Mexican-American family starring Esai Morales, will air on Metro buses across Los Angeles.

"Colombiana", starring Zoe Saldana as a professional assassin determined to take revenge on the mobster who killed her parents, debuts in movie theaters on August 26th.

Freddy Rodriguez, Selena Gomez, Esai Morales and Michelle Rodriguez were among the winners of this year's Imagen Awards, which took place over the weekend in Los Angeles. "Law & Order: Los Angeles" and "Dora the Explorer"were among the awarded shows.

PBS announced its Hispanic Heritage programming for 2011. Among this year's programs are "Great Performances: Placido Domingo: My Favorite Roles", "In Performance at the White House: Fiesta Latina" and "Independent Lens: Our Disappeared/Nuestros Desaparecidos".

A bull killed a 29-year-old man in during a public festival in Spain this week. The 1100 pound bull named Raton has killed two other members of the public in the last 10 years.

A 19-year-old Mexican migrant worker became the first person in the U.S. to die from a vampire bat bite. He was bitten and contracted rabies in Michoacan, Mexico and died two weeks later in Louisiana where he was working at a sugar cane plantation.

Puerto Rico Rep. David Bonilla has filed a resolution to install a 600-ton bronze statue of Christopher Columbus on the uninhabited island of Desecheo. The statue was built by a Russian sculptor to mark the 500th anniversary of Columbus' arrival in the Western hemisphere and was previously rejected by New York, Miami and Baltimore, among other cities, before landing in Puerto Rico.

Crime

Former Mexican soccer champ Nacho Flores was killed by gunmen who surrounded his car while traveling from Mexico City to Cuernavaca. Two passengers in the vehicle were also wounded.
